Arc History
The Arc Fox Cities, Inc. was created in January 2006 with the merger of the Arc of Neenah-Menasha and the Arc of Outagamie County.
Both agencies were created in the mid-1950’s by families of individuals with developmental disabilities who were not satisfied with the services available in the Fox Valley area.
The Arcs of Outagamie County and Neenah-Menasha have been instrumental in the creation of other Fox Cities agencies such as Lakeside Packaging Plus in 1962.
In June of 1970 the Arc of Neenah-Menasha purchased the former Winnebago Day School on Doty Island in Menasha.
After a request to do so from self-advocates, The Association for Retarded Citizens changed its name to The Arc in 1991.
Presently in 2006 the Arc Fox Cities has a membership of over 500 individuals, families and corporations in the Fox Valley area. The Arc Fox Cities strives to empower youth and adults with differing abilities.
